I was just looking for that thread!
I had the simple inexpensive metal one in every Indian household. Once, opening the lid, I got a cut that hurt more than a paper cut.
Sorry to hear.
Mine has rolled edges on the lid, and dull edges on the rim of the base and all the inner containers. Nowhere for anything to get cut.
But of course there’s a wide range available, as with any other basic household product — different price points have different quality, and even the same price point will have a wide variety of choices.
My mom’s has an inner lid that I now covet. My sibling’s have tempered glass insets in the lids, so you can see inside (I guess it makes sense if someone has more than one, though I don’t know anyone other than them who does). Mine has a spoon for every inner container, which I now realize is unusual.
Reminds me of my grandmother making jello in empty Nescafe jars. Mmm, coffee-flavored lime jello.
Tupperware?
Nice varied selection. I certainly wouldn’t turn down an invite (not that I’d ever receive one
I thought about that … make an exception for Tupperware to store flour and sugar.
I think my favorite part of this is that it’s on Esquire.
I still use one my daughter finished off here. Great product and container.
Used to use baby food jars, but started making my own. My fat fingers can’t quite come to terms with those little jars.
Spices from our local Mennonite store last a long time. When I went country I worried I’d lose access to spices from Indian, Balkan and Asian markets I loved in the city. Gracias to our local Mennonite and Amish populations. I’ll go to Penzeys for anything they might not have.
Me too. Rice, also.
Keeps the bugs out!
Good read, thanks!
I just noticed that Kamala and I have the same Howard University apron!
That’s why I keep flour in things like that. Been there done that with bugs.
That looks like fun!
Yes!
Says “you can cook along in your own kitchen”.
Towards the bottom it reads
“How to Join in Cooking for Kamala
Cooking for Kamala will take place on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 8:00 – 9:30 p.m. ET. Interested participants can sign up here.”
This might be the sign up
Unfortunate that it overlaps with Harris’ CNN interview.
