Chipotle menu and cost – Is it still worth it?

I was checking the Chipotle menu and cost recently and noticed prices have gone up a bit. With extras like guac and double meat, it adds up fast.

Do you think it’s still worth the price? How does it compare to other similar places?

Depends where you live, e.g. in California with many cheap but good Mexican options it was never worth it

I like QDoba more. I don’t think I’ve been to a Chipotle in 10 years.

Where I live in Canada, Chipotle costs about the same as most sandwich shops. It’s around $12-$15 before tax for a meal. Around the same as a 3 piece chicken dinner at Popeyes or KFC, or a 6 nugget combo/ QB with cheese combo with fries and a drink at McD’s.

Cheaper better Mexican places exist but they aren’t located in a convenient location for people in the burbs.

That makes sense sounds like prices are pretty consistent with fast food in general. Phoenikia, you might want to try online ordering from Chipotle.

Thanks for the idea.

I am able to order online from some cheaper Mom and Pop restaurants or small regional chains when I’m in Toronto, so that’s where I usually get my Mexican fix. I can get 2 tacos at Gus Tacos in Toronto for around $12. https://order.online/store/gus-tacos-toronto-801063/?hideModal=true&pickup=true

In London, Ontario, I order from a restaurant with 2 locations in Ontario, Taco Loco. The other location is in Talbotville.

What do you recommend most at Chipotle? I have only ordered it a few times.

I like the quesadillas at Qdoba

Not helpful, but I feel like Chipotle and Mexican food are only related if you get a burrito!

I don’t know about how the prices compare but it feels more like fast casual than fast food.

Wait…what was the question?

I choose Chipotle if I am looking for predicable fast casual salads and bowls away from home, and not really for “Mexican food”, nor the price point.

I have meals at fast casual places (Five Guys, Ono Hawaiian, Panda Express) in Sacramento, CA with a pre-teen and I am regularly surprised at how much I pay! We used to go to a Mom and Pop Mexican place in Davis, CA that always seemed like a good deal, but that was two years ago.

Yes, if you want Chipotle food.

I’ve been to Chipotle a few times. Seems better and healthier than most fast food or fast casual but who knows what is added or how it’s really prepared.

Is it worth it? As mentioned, yes if you like it but the extras add up fast. That said, I also have better options and why not support a local business. I think the last time I went was 2 years ago….a grilled chicken bowl was $7.xx now $10+…but everything has gone up.

If I’m at a mall food court, Chipotle is often the best of limited choices. I can usually share a burrito bowl and chips with my sister or niece and we’re both more than full. And that mitigates the cost somewhat.

But between Chipotle and a good mom and pop Mexican place, I’ll choose the mom and pop every time.

There’s a Chipotle near my home, but I rarely ever go there because I’ll usually just make lunch or dinner at home. Chipotle is only something I consider if there is nothing to eat.

Ironically, I work in an expensive area of the city, and Chipotle is one of only a few places where you can get a filling lunch for about $10. I have gone a few times when I’m really hungry, because their food will be more filling. So for where I am at work, it’s great value! Lunch in that neighborhood is really $15-20. The food is generally fresh, and feels healthier than othee fast casual or fast food options. I don’t think of them as Mexican food though, but California food. I usually go for their bowls.

I’m pretty far from any Chipotle, so I usually order online. This site really helps: https://thechipotlemenu.com makes it easier to check the menu and prices before ordering.

Are you affiliated with the site you’ve linked to, @collinlevis ?

A quick look at the site you recommended and my local Chipotle shows different prices (between about $.50 and $1.25) for items. (My local store is cheaper, which is a surprise given that I’m in Southern California.)

This seems like one of those AI-generated websites which just scours the original Chipotle site and its social media accounts for content and regurgitate them. Ordering online you will just use the app. I fail to see any use for this website, at all.

Just to clarify, I’m not affiliated with the site I mentioned. I shared it because I’ve used it a few times to check menu items and found it convenient at the time. Prices can be different, so it’s better to check the real Chipotle app or website. Just wanted to help!
