We are looking for a good restaurant with the classic drinks, such as Zombies and Mai Tai’s. Hoping to find one in the Freehold to East Windsor area. We will travel for excellent food and drinks.
I haven’t ordered them but I know they have them at Peking Pavilion on Rt 33 in Manalapan.
The only ones I know that offer the Polynesian style drink menu you’re searching of are:
Sunny Palace in East Brunswick

Lun Wah in Roselle

HIGHLY recommend Lun Wah. I’ve been there a bunch and never a bad meal. The ambiance is neat inside. Some nights they have karaoke. They have a bunch of themed drinks, some come on fire. My friend ordered a Volcano Steak and accidentally burnt his arm hairs LOL. He asked if his boyfriend wanted to smell and he replied that he could smell it from across the table.
+1 on Peking Pavillion Had a Scorpion Bowl there once I believe … and the food is about as good as Cantonese/American gets around here. Get the scallops or the steak. Plus, while not in Freehold, they are really close.
It’s not a Chinese restaurant, but Little Buddy Hideaway in Asbury Park is a real-deal tiki bar w all of those drinks…
It’s the small space attached to Brickwall and only open Thurs-Sun if I remember correctly.
And I think it doesn’t open until 930, it’s the old Goldie’s and then became Happiness briefly.
Correct!
Also the food is pretty good there as well, you are not sacrificing quality food for the liquor license. (Much better than my recommendation, the only thing I could think of was PF Changs)
We drive down Rt. 33 at least 3 days a week to Jersey Shore Arena and pass Peking Pavilion. I will try their drinks. May need a ride home so check back often.
They also do good egg rolls and dry cooked string beans.
