Is there somewhere in Fremont, Union City, Newark, Hayward, or Milpitas that has a chicken teppanyaki?
Toro Sushi in Fremont has a teppanyaki, but I don’t see chicken on the menu.

Benihana has some locations in the Bay Area.
Closest one would be in San Mateo or Cuppertino.
Not that close, but I guess I could try it. I guess I would get the Hibachi chicken with teriyaki?
I guess they’ve changed their menu over the years. It used to be teppanyaki style, but maybe they have another name for it and it is not cooked in front of you on the flat grill. Hibachi, to me, means cooked over charcoal. Teriyaki could mean method or seasoning these days. Let us know what you find out!
Thanks. Do you have another recommendation for something that you know is teppanyaki?
There is a ‘steakhouse’ named Kobe in some states. I don’t see one in your desired area. We used to frequent the Benihana in SF and Concord when we were in the SF BA. We have a Kobe here, but it is hit and miss.
I can not vouch for these but it looks like they do Teppanyaki you will need to call them top see if they have what you want.
Toro Sushi Stone Grill & Bar
Hana Japan Steak House
Your request got me thinking: there are at least 4 teppanyaki/hibachi places within 15 minutes of my house (between Stockton and Lodi), so I’m surprised that there are so few in the East Bay. Do the higher real estate prices make such places harder to operate profitably?
Try a yelp search for teppanyaki in Union City, Fremont and Hayward… which often have menus or links.
Hana looks good, thanks.
I mentioned in my OP that I looked at Toro’s menu, and it didn’t appear they had chicken in their teppanyaki section.
I had tried that. But a lot of times, when I’d check the menu of the places in the search results, it didn’t really have it. So I thought I would ask people who might be more familiar with places, either having been to a place, or seen it.
Last September, I had been to a nearby place called Wakatobi. It was ok. Wanted to try at least one more place, to see if I could find some place I liked more.
