Chicken dog bagels’ last week at Pizzahacker (SF La Lengua)

They announced on Instagram that they’re taking a break from their Thurs-Sat Pizzahacker residency to focus on business development, and they’re planning to pop up at different places throughout the summer.

I’ll be sure to stop by this Thursday to Saturday for their last time at Pizzahacker — during the pandemic, they’ve been a semi-regular event for my family, and both a rare opportunity to have stellar bagels, and an even rarer privilege to be guaranteed bagels still warm from the oven.

If you haven’t had them before, I’d encourage you to get a plain one just to appreciate the natural transition from the blistered crunchy outside to the denser, bouncy and sour crumb. For the whole sandwich experience, I find the horseradish shallot cream cheese a great compliment to the salmon.
