I wish I had known about this place for the few occasions I worked in Woodland.
Not the kind of place for a fancy dining experience, but a throwback that suggests how immigrants to the US gained a foothold in the American Dream, members of my extended family included.
There was a Chinese cafe in Williams that was really old school. We used to stop there sometimes instead of Garrazo’s after getting gas. The ladies would sit there reading their Chinese newspapers. They had a killer beef and tomato dish that I hadn’t found since I was a kid.
Gone now too.
