Chef Jimmy Kwok rumored to have died in Shanghai

Talk among Chinatown restaurateurs is that renowned Vietnamese chef Jimmy Kwok (Bodega Bistro, Begoni Bistro, etc.) has passed away. After being cut loose from a struggling Begoni Bistro, he relocated to Shanghai and opened a restaurant there, and reportedly suffered a recent fatal heart attack.

I have not found confirmation of this in the English media. Perhaps someone more competent than I in searching the Chinese media can check the story out.

I don’t know him, so I have no idea of his his face. The rumor has he passed away when?

I found this Jimmy Kwok (who I believe to be a Vietnamese chef as well) made his last tweet on Oct 19th.

My sources have confirmed this to be unfortunately true, coming from those who were friends with Jimmy.
