Cheesesteak at Ghostburger

There are many places to get a steak and cheese in the DC area, but not so many for a cheesesteak. You know: shaved ribeye, onions, and melted cheese on a hoagie roll.

I figured if Ghostburger was good enough for POTUS, it’s good enough for me.

In fact, it was great enough for me.

While the roll is not classic Sarcone’s, and the onions are caramelized, it is fantastically delicious and true to the spirit of a cheesesteak, with the sharp liquidy cheese incorporated throughout.

It’s not cheap, for sure, at $18 for an 8 inch. But I’d rather have one of these than two other pretenders. I’d give it a 9 out of 10.

what kind of cheese? Asking for a friend

They say on the menu it’s ‘whiz’ but it is white and sharp tasting. So the effect is different. Still, all melty and liquidy.

It sounds like provolone or Cooper Sharp

Have you tried their burger. I hear it’s good.

I haven’t tried the burger. The cheese didn’t taste like provolone… maybe the other.
