It’s many months since we last had lunch at this local chippy. In fact it may have been the last time the father in law was able to be out of the house.
There was really no need to look at the brief menu (although we did) as we know exactly what we’re having. That’s cod, chips, mushy peas, slice of bread & butter, Sprite.
Enormous fillet of fish (Mrs H had their “small” fillet which was still, erm, big) – crisp batter, big flakes of lovely white fish. Pretty much perfect chips – cooked through and golden brown on the outside, but still a little floppiness to them. Peas – mushy but not mush. Needless to say, the slice of bread and butter makes for an excellent chip butty.
