[Cheadle, Greater Manchester] Harbour

This is a newly opened fish & chip place on Cheadle’s High Street. What it has going for it is that there’s seating for eating in. Although this isn’t a “proper” chippy cafe, as your food comes in cardboard takeaway boxes and your knife and fork are wooden. Chips were plentiful and very decent – not at all greasy. The fish was disappointing – an unidentified “fish”, rather than saying it’s cod or haddock (I’m sure it was neither). It’s a thin fillet which they managed to overcook, yet leaving the batter soggy.

Not one to go back to. I hope, as I would for any new business, that it has staying power but my guess is it won’t have.

Basa fillet?

Bummer about the disappointing mystery fish.

Possibly. I know that is often “fish” but the overdoneness meant I couldnt really guess. Deffo wasnt coley which is a reasonable sub for haddock.cod.
