I don’t live in the SFBA, but when I visit, I always make time to go to Catch for dinner at least once. I guess people don’t talk much about them because they’ve been around a while, but to me, they’re absolutely one of the best places to get perfectly cooked, fresh seafood. I’ve never been disappointed by them.
But, when I do visit, I’m always down towards Foster City, so it is a bit of a chore to get up to the City for dinner sometimes, so is there anything comparable nearby? I really haven’t found any place that does good “California cooking”. Years ago, I would go to Scott’s in Mountain View, but they’re not around any more.
