Capsule, Paris 14

Capsule is a restaurant that opened this past May in the 14th arrondissement. It provides contemporary French cooking at most favorable prices, and is definitely worthy of your attention should you be in the area. My review is here.

This looks very interesting. Thanks for checking it out. The menu seems filled with wonderful possibilities (beef tartare, octopus salad and one of my fave desserts, tarte citron). Plus the location near the Obervatoire is very convenient.

Many thanks for flagging up Capsule. It’s a short walk from our place but I hadn’t heard about it and haven’t been past Cochin since it opened.
Motivated by your review, my wife and I had a really excellent lunch there last Friday. The 3 course set menu was delicious and terrific value for money. We’ll be going back to sample some dishes from the carte. I shall spread the word amongst our neighbours.

Thanks, glad to be of service.

We had lunch here yesterday after a visit to the Montparnasse Cemetery, and it was delightful. Thanks, onzieme.

Here’s the menu & lunch. I got entrée + plat, my husband plat + dessert, and we shared the starter and dessert. I was concerned by the lack of color on the quail, but assume it was cooked sous-vide. It was very good, though, as was the main. Great texture on the sausage. I’m not a big dessert person, but wow, this was so good - pure, wonderfully ripe apricots and a super crust.

Btw, it was packed yesterday, inside & out, so I’m glad we had a reservation.

We also had a very nice lunch there in March, thanks to onzieme’s review—a great value. And it was also packed when we went (glad we had reserved as well).
