The Falmouth area has food options we enjoy. One of can’t eat enough fried scallops (though IMO it’s a cover for eating copious amounts of tartar sauce) the other orders and enjoys clams anyway they can be served.
If you are in the vicinity I recommend:
The Chapoquoit Grill in West Falmouth https://www.chapoquoitgrillwestfalmouth.com [https://www.chapoquoitgrillwestfalmouth.com]. The Chappy Littlenecks, Steamed PEI Mussels, Special Salad (GF) , Warm Goat Cheese Salad, Chappy Burger, Salmon Burger, Portuguese soup (just the right amount of spice from chorizo). Enough beer choices, as well as dessert. You need a reservation !
Pie in the Sky in Woods Hole The best popovers ! Pie by the slice, try the key lime. Also, a really good grilled hot dog when you just need something to tide you over until dinner. Chopped onions are available as a condiment ! They are back to pre-Covid hours 7 days a week 5am to 9 pm.
The Landfall https://www.landfallwoodshole.com If you’ve never been and would love dinner looking at the water make a reservation asking for that. Options are for full meals or lighter meals. Salad greens are local, delicious. Service is thoughtful, cordial, relaxing.
Maison Villatte Patisserie, Boulangerie 267 Main Street Falmouth https://www.facebook.com/people/Maison-Villatte/100057245816386/?mibextid=ZbWKwL
Go for the breads, go early. Also, individual quiche, croissants,… all worth the price. I understand they have a small shop in Woods Hole near the ferry . It was not as yet open when we were there.
Kettle Ho https://kettlehocotuit.com Stuffed Quahogs, Clams Cotuit, Fried Fish, Baked Fish, very lively bar scene, local hangout, totally laidback. Not a lot of seating, put your name on the list or get takeout. No reservations.
The Clam Man 15 Boxwood Circle Falmouth https://www.theclamman.comThe freshest seafood available in the area. They have added prepared items ready to cook - only three - plus more options to their freezer for stocks, chopped clams,… If you want to cook this is the place to shop IMO.
Missed out on Jim’s Clam Shack, Clinton Avenue, Falmouth. Opens this Friday, May 24 https://www.facebook.com/jimsclamshack/?modal=admin_todo_tour. really the best Fried Clams, Oysters, Scallops in the area. Grab a picnic bench outside or a table topside. Be aware of the gulls. They are not shy.
