Dab it dry with a paper towel.
Then put some baking soda on the stained area and let it sit for up to an hour.
Wipe off the baking soda, then with a clean sponge rub some dish soap on the area (being careful not to further spread the stain). Let it sit for a few minutes then rinse.
Then wash the dress in your washer.
Dawn dish detergent works magic on any fat stains.
I use Shout, it comes in a spray bottle. So far I haven’t found any stain it won’t remove.
I take an old toothbrush, dip it in my standard liquid laundry detergent and agitate the stain (little circles), add a drop or two of water, then continue to agitate with the toothbrush. I’ll add more liquid detergent to the stain and continue if necessary. Then into the washer for a standard cycle.
All of the above methods should work well on grease/ oil stains. I love a product called Greased Lightning - works on removing dirt/grime on paint, tubs and showers, but also on laundry. I do use a brush to scrub the affected part, and so far, no problems with the color bleeding or anything like that. Not sure if it’s available in Canada, but around here we get it at Home Depot or a hardware store. I wouldn’t however use it on specialty fabrics like silk or of the ilk that needs to go to the dry cleaners.
I will take a look. Thanks
Thanks Dan.
Thanks! Shout is our standard, sometimes I have also bought Zout.
Thanks Tash.
Thanks, Ipse.
