Cabaret L’enfer {Montreal} – A Meal for the Ages

Our one night in Montreal coming down from QC produced not only the best meal of the trip, but probably the best meal I’ve ever had in Canada. Comparing to something like Bouillon Bilk, my previous fave in Montreal, there was really not much of a comparison. For the experience $120 is decent value. 8 courses with few addons like lobster ($20) that wasnt really necessary. Great music, vibe, service, maybe a little pushy trying to sell more wine.

Highlights were the sliced scallop with Fava beans, and a Vermouth based sauce. And Entrecote with bits of artichoke and Bordelaise sauce. Just phenomenal combination of flavors, textures, and quality. Flatbread with Stracciatella and fresh peas, Tuna Belly Tostada, lobster Cappellacci were outstanding as well. The only dish that didnt quite felt nearly as brilliant was the asparagus with wild Nettles.

Ranked #21 on canadas100best.com. Shoutout to @PedroPero and anyone else who recommended it here

It was a bit spendy, but it was a bday weekend for me so I sprung for it.
