/I happened to look at the menu at Bub and Pop’s, and there seem to be big changes. They no longer sell half sandwiches – or whole sandwiches for $24. The sandwiches now are 10 inches range around $16. More interesting, they may have a new bread. – which would be a big plus. Does anyone know if they now have a hard roll for subs? And do they have indoor seating now?
I went to Bub and Pop’s and (1) no indoor dining, so go on a nice day if you don’t have an office nearby and (2) the sandwiches are now right-sized and now come on a great crusty roll. Ithe change puts them among the very best subs in the area. From my post (just up)

N-i-i-i-ce. Must go soon. Right now I am doing the calculation of how quickly I can get there.
Every once in a while I get a strong hankering for a cheeseteak. So I made a beeline for Bub and Pop’s.
I didn’t take a picture. It was too big a mess. The melted sharp white American cheese overwhelmed everything else. I could see there were onions, and it had a huge amount of beef, but I don’t think I tasted anything but the cheese. After I ordered I saw many options that i am sure are better, but I came with a myopic purpose.
Thanks for the warning. I suppose I’ll try it if only out of a sense of duty, but perhaps ask them to go light on the cheese.
What ar the local cheesesteaks you like? With a hard roll.
The best right now, though it’s not completely traditional as they caramelize the onions, is at Ghostburger.
I was in front of a place in College Park that looks promising, Tokoa Cheesesteaks, but I had a mission to go into Northwest Chinese Food, right next door.
Unfortunately, I can’t really rate the bread at Bub and Pop’s. It was inappropriate for the sandwich as anytime you bit into it, the insides would squeeze out before you could tear into the bread. This really was a disaster.
If places are going to overload a sandwich – and they shouldn’t – they need to give you a fork so you can eat it down to a manageable level. And lots of napkins
