Everything on this baking blog is mouthwatering. Gesine is a butter devotee, so if SHE says this cake is delicious, I believe it.

I’ve made that cake and it is rich, though I don’t think the recipe called for vinegar.
wacky cake is my go-to for “ohmigod, i need to bring dessert”. foolproof, easy and very good with or without frosting. also? dirt cheap to make. you need the vinegar to help leaven the cake.
i recommend it on chowhound threads all the time.
Very similar to the recipe I use, but mine didn’t call for coffee.
