A solid, neighborhood-y sports bar and restaurant.
They have a surprisingly extensive menu, including an interesting pizza section, a wide range of sandwiches, a few tacos, usual and unusual appetizers, and a variety of main course options, plus a really good kids’ menu.
I went with steak tips (which I only ever see on menus in Boston, never in nyc) which were served with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Others had fish and chips, a main course salad, pasta and meatballs, and another taker for steak tips.
My steak tips were perfectly done, with potatoes seasoned just right. The broccoli was overcooked, but I didn’t care. The fish and chips were very good, though an enormous portion of both (the salad eater finished the fish in the end). The pasta and meatballs hit the kid spot (along with some of the plentiful fries).
Very friendly and prompt service. Good food. I can see why it’s a neighborhood haunt.
