Beauty’s is an old favourite. I order the blintzes.
I want to visit Larry’s. Lawrence serves a nice brunch.
Tsak Tsak in Little Italy serves a Madagascan breakfast.

Full disclosure: I am not a big breakfast/brunch person. What I look for is a strong cup of coffee and a good pastry or something light to go with it. That said, my thoughts are:
Yes to Larry’s. I also like Sparrow, which is quite close to Larry’s. But I’d choose Larry’s between the two.
Chez Jose is cute vibe-wise, but the food won’t blow you away.
Beauty’s is a solid choice.
I do not care for Arthur’s.
I recently went to Thanjai and noticed they have a breakfast menu. Haven’t tried it but it could be interesting and I found it to be a generously-spaced restaurant, so that aspect might appeal to you.
If you want help with the coffee-light bite kind of breakfast, I am at your disposal.
thank you!
I would definitely be interested in your coffee shop and café recs.
I’m not seeking out pastries as much as coffee these days. I ate too many pastries over the past 20 years and I have to avoid them now. lol.
Alphabet Café had caught my eye.
I haven’t been there yet but, from the outside, it looks to be a popular place. Note: The places on my list are there not just because of the coffee, but because of location and openness to dogs (important for the morning walk) with the exception of the last venue. All except the last one have some seats outside, at least for now.
Phin - newish Vietnamese coffee on Roy. Pastries (just in case) are generally drier and less sweet than the usual fare. And they offer grilled cheese.
Nous sommes café - I am generally not a fan of tangy third wave coffees and this place makes a solid cup of no-frills joe. The other drinks are good, too.
Le St. Louis café - Just a nice neighborhood spot with good coffee and good pastries and a couple comfy armchairs.
Café Edmund - This one is a little on the scruffy side, but they have a small menu of more savory items, usually a couple of frittatas, sandwiches, etc.
thank you!
Nous sommes café can be a little inconsistent. Maybe skip that one.
okay!
I do enjoy Vietnamese cafés.
