Bonkers Chinese Burgers in DC - Report

With visions of Rou Jia Mo dancing in my head, I stopped in at Bonkers in Chinatown, hoping for a quick fix at a counter service joint dedicated to this singular item. Locally, I have swooned biting into the version at Northwest Chinese Food and Bob’s 66.

The problem here starts with the bread which is like a cold, untoasted english muffin. The shredded pork, room temperature, is mostly uninteresting, so you should say yes to all the toppings of onion, cilantro, green pepper and chili oil.

Not that I should be shocked… but Bonkers is not serious.
