blogTO's Best of Dim Sum in Markham

Any opinion on BlogTO’s list? I would really love to go out for dim sum again. It has been years.

OMG! or Oh No!!
Another ’ Best of…list 'posting by BlogTO…with so many glaring worthy omissions! Looks like it was written by yet another so-called food-critic lacking knowledge and authority in the field and obviously did not do enough research on the subject before publishing!!
The following establishments offer products, IMHO are way better than some of the listed candidates!
O’Mei, Yu-Seafood, Kingsfield, Casa Imperial, Providential 9, Casa Deluz, Yang’s seafood, Destiny Asian Fusion, Premiere…etc
BTW, Ding Tai Fung sucks!!..over-rated!!

My go-to places: O’Mei. Providential 9, Skyview Fusion, Casa Victoria, Kingsfield and Destiny Asian Fusion. Also, Casa Deluz, if it wasn’t for the long drive from home!

Thanks, Charles. Always a big plus to read recommendations from someone “in the know”. If you could only do one for dim sum, which would it be?

Curiously, they are all along the Highway#7 stretch!
Further WEST - O Mei
In the middle - Destiny Asian Fusion
Further EAST - Casa Victoria

Never, never, never trust any BlogTO ‘best of’ lists. They are beyond bad. You’re better off randomly picking a restaurant from Tripadvisor or something. Ding Tai Fung at #2 is criminal but what makes it more absurd is they aren’t even a true Dim Sum restaurant.

Totally agree what you said, Steve!..and the author actually recommends ’ Siu Mai ’ at Ding Tai Fung!! Guess its frozen commercial products they get from Scarborough food factories?! :joy: :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Yikes! Good to know.

My Markham dim sum experience has been limited to Casa Victoria and Skyview Fusion, thanks to previous recommendations from Charles on Chowhound. Both have been great.

You too! My strategy is to head into the holidays on the low side, offsetting the subsequent damage.

I’ve been cutting back on treats bought or baked by me for my own household this year, since we’ll inevitably be given some high calorie treats over the next 2 weeks.
