Next to the Lincoln Theatre and Ben’s Chili Bowl, this is a deep, narrow bar and restaurant from the same owners as the Chili Bowl. A bit busy, noisy, and buzzy, though the back of the restaurant is far away form the bar with a DJ, so you can get away from most of it. Brightly lit space.
I tried out the chicken and waffles and fried catfish. The chicken breast was enormous (this chicken could eat the other chickens), boneless, and as crispy, dark brown, and moist as you could hope for. Glorious. The waffles were quite thick, good, though nothing special.
The catfish was fine, nothing j I couldn’t do at home. Sides of mashed potato and kale were ok.
I would go back for the chicken and I am encouraged to try some of the other main dishes.
