Beef Pie at the Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel [Sydney]

I went to Sydney last December (2019) on vacation and one of the first places I visited was the Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel in the Rocks, a historic neighborhood adjacent to Sydney Harbor, on the recommendation of a work colleague. He recommended I get the pie, which I did. I went there on a Monday and they had it on special for AU$9, what a deal. This is apparently the oldest running hotel in Sydney.

The pie was very good. In my limited experience Australia does meat wrapped in pastry crust very well. Nice flaky tender crust surrounding a beef filling. It was sitting on a mound of mashed potatoes which in turn was sitting on a nice brown gravy. Topped with mushy peas. Very comforting.

Also had a beer, which was fine. I neglected to write down what it was but I believe it is brewed on premises.
