Passing along a heads up that I was able to get fabulous blue crabs this weekend from New York Marts in Wollaston/ Quincy. The crabs were decent sized, and had really beautiful “mustard” – nice and fatty for the season. I heard from a family acquaintance that blue crabs were also plentiful and of great quality at C-Mart in Chinatown. They had special prices this weekend ($2.99 and then $1.88 / lb, respectively) that I think were one-time deals, but for the crab lovers, this seems to be an auspicious start to the season.
