[Bangkok] Pork "Khao Tom" breakfast at Silom Soi 4.

This “khao tom” (Chinese-Taechiu-style rice porridge) stall along Silom Soi 4, off Silom Road is unmissable in the mornings. It’s very popular, so place your order and be prepared to wait. The lady-chef who cooks the porridge is very efficient - but many customers do multiple takeaway packs. The wait is well worth it, though - she makes the best-tasting minced pork-balls I’d had in ages, and the broth was so flavoursome!

Silom Soi 4 in the morning is quiet and deserted, except for this busy “khao tom” stall.

Pork broth with minced pork, sliced pork, pig’s blood, pig’s liver, intestines and stomach. Add the bowl of steamed rice and you have the breakfast of champions!

Silom Soi 4, off Silom Road. Saladaeng BTS station is just 3 minutes’ walk away.
