ballroom-banquet hall for wedding?

Hi all,
I’m posting this here, since I’m a lurker and respect your opinions and comments and knowledge of the state.
I’m looking for a place to have a wedding, somewhere about 30-45 minute drive from Marlboro. Would need to be a kosher wedding, so we’d need to bring in a kosher caterer. We’ve started looking at a couple of places, and some are very nice, but crazy expensive. One place quoted $55k just to rent out the place (plus to bring in the kosher caterer), another place quoted about $45k for the same. One place quoted $350pp (but not kosher). These halls are really exquisite, but completely crazy prices! we haven’t yet looked at hotels (not sure which hotels look “grand” enough. We went the other day to look at the Berkeley in Asbury, and didn’t make it past the lobby - just too run down looking… we looked at the Wave, but wasn’t large enough.
Any suggestions?
Thanks a bunch!

What is your head count? Figure that out, then go on TheKnot.com or WeddingWire.com to find venues that will fit your various specifications (such as being able to bring your own caterer, or offering kosher catering). The websites have places categorized by price level, though you’ll have to call them individually to get a better feel for pricing.

Hi. thanks for this. yeah, I’m familiar with both, but was just wondering from all of you if you have any personal preferences or opinions.
Thanks!

If the Bell Works building has an event area that could accommodate your headcount, this place could work:

Would be a memorable location!

I have nowhere to recommend, but am inclined to believe that with the large kosher-based populations in Deal/Long Branch and Highland Park that there must be options at varying price points. I suspect, however, that many such weddings occur at synagogues and perhaps lesser so at wedding venues. Good luck!!

LOVE this suggestion! Bellworks is a stunning location, unlimited parking, and if you’re bringing in your own caterer, I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t work! They have a beautiful outdoor deck for photos as well.

The beach restaurant in Loch Arbour is kosher and available for events.
