Baking to stay warm. (Jan. 2016)

It’s cold even in sunny So Cal so turning on the oven is fun again. What treats are you making?
Made this coconut pound cake…good flavor but a bit too dry.

Cake looks fabulous! I’d be 300+ lbs if I baked to stay warm here. It’s -26 C (-15 F) right now.

Your cake looks delicious. If you think it’s too dry, poke some holes in it and soak with liquor. Maybe some coconut rum? You could also grill some slices and top with ice cream. I decided to heat the kitchen up a bit as well and made some orange cranberry bread.

Pumpkin-Cranberry Bread always goes over well at work. I might make some tomorrow afternoon.

Mmmm. Makes me want to break out my bunt pan.

Baking bread for me. It’s now good enough that I’m giving it away to neighbors. My freezer is already stuffed with bread crumbs and croutons so I’m happy to share.

I do the same thing, I bake cookies to heat up the house and make it smell good.

I’ll even bring in a fan to circulate the warm, sweet smelling air.
