Avocado Oil--What's in Yours?

Here’s an interesting bit on avocado oils that aren’t all avacado but rather undisclosed blends.

For those who can’t pass the paywall, here’s the study: https://www.ucdavis.edu/food/news/study-finds-82-percent-avocado-oil-rancid-or-mixed-other-oils

I was relieved that my usual buy, Chosen, was one of only 2 avocado oils tested to contain no adulteration or rancidity.

The best news may be that Chosen can be found at Grocery Outlet at steeply discounted prices.

Yep,that’s my “choice” also.I get at Grocery Outlet also.

I buy Marianne’s brand (also listed) from Costco. One thing about Costco is they verify the quality and origin of the oil they sell. There’s lots of fraud, blends or misrepresentations of olive oil as well

BTW, I keep the un-used bottle of avocado oil in the frig since it’s known to go bad or rancid relatively fast, or faster than most oils. I keep about a half liter in a green bottle near the stove for cooking.
