Anyone know a knife shop that fixes these?

@Chemicalkinetics @Scubadoo97 See above, any ideas?

@Eiron is maybe who Kaleo means?

Folding knives with spring/lock and standard hinge pin.
Here’s an image from the Laguiile website.

BINGO!

I have one of these rivet spinner bits somewhere…

Not sure if Kaleo is referring to me (Greg), or Jim (owner of Knifesavers Sharpening in San Diego, and also a one-time member when ChowHound was still a thing (don’t recall if I’ve ever seen him here on HO)). I’m in CO, so neither of us are located in your preferred area of NY.

Without seeing the knife, I’d imagine the repair to be a long the lines of what Kaleo described. If you web search for ā€œknife repairā€ in your area you’ll find a few local operators that advertise repairs in addition to sharpening. (Since it was purchased in Vichy, I’m guessing the owner has a personal attachment to the knife that transcends any retail value.)

That and it cost him $40. Thanks for the advice!1

Wamt me to look for my pin spinner?

Seriously, small_h, this is the kind of little project that will delight the owner at Yanagi in Brooklyn, the place I mentioned above. I think his name is Han, but I may be misremembering. Don’t email, they’ll never reply. Best to just take the knife there in person.
