Yeah, I was trying not to spell it out. It was weird, really. I often work out on an empty stomach bc I’m not hungry in the AM — which is when I usually work out.
I guess just a 2-week break undid any “shape” I might’ve been in before we left, and I probz pushed myself too hard
Also had a pounding headache for a hot minute. Won’t do that again.
Oof, that sucks Back when I hit the gym on the reg(3 times a week min) I’d have a large coffee a couple/three of hours pre workout, and nothing else. Never felt nauseous but still had that good caffeine rush going.
Oh, no black coffee for me (unless it’s espresso) — I take mine with a healthy shake of full fat milk (half & half at home) & but a dusting of brown sugar (Splenda at home).
Well, the Fodzyme has helped quite a bit. Not 100% sure, but I’m thinking that fructan/fructose are my kryptonite, which is just the worst. Looking at a list of food high in those is looking at most of my favorites. The Fodzyme literature specifically states that it works on alliums, which isn’t a problem with me, so I recommend either giving it a try- or at least do an online search as to what alliums cause problems and which digestive enzymes help that sensitivity, and go from there.
EDIT- I meant to say which components of alliums cause problems, it was explained that they were all inedible.
The good news is that I’ve lost around 4 kg since May.
I’m eating less carbs, less refined sugar, and less junk. I’m exercising more. I have built muscle. I’ve lost 2 dress sizes/ jean sizes.
The bad news is that my A1C went up over the past 6 months. I am wearing a continuous glucose monitor, and I have been paying attention to the numbers which looked lower the last 2 months, compared to the numbers in May and June. The A1C is supposed to be an average glucose representing the average glucose over the past 3 months.
It’s possible there was an error at the lab.
Apparently some people have a physiological response to losing weight which causes the A1C to go up.
I’m still pre-diabetic but this A1C is a little closer to diabetic, and it’s the worst reading I’ve had.
It’s a disappointment to have been working harder at lowering my A1C for the past 6 months, and have the A1C go up.
This reading was from a lab’s blood test yesterday. My random glucose was 5.7.
I have been going over my numbers from the Libre CGM with my registered dietician every month. According to my RD, it looked like I was averaging 5.7-5.9 on the GCM. My blood test at the lab said 6.3. When I’ve had my blood tested, I have usually been 6.0-6.1 over the past 6 years. I did get my A1C down from 6.1 to 5.8 in 2014 and 2018.
(Americans, prediabetes is 6.0-6.4 in Canada and the UK)
I’ll test again in 3 months. I might go to a different lab next time.
I have veins that make drawing blood very difficult, at least for most nurses and techs over the past 5 years, often resulting in 4 or 5 tries, so I have been drinking a lot of water beforehand lately.
