Antonio Carluccio - RIP

A sad loss of one of our “greats”. When I reach for an Italian cookbook, it’s usually one of his.

Indeed. I once ate at his Neil Street restaurant and it was very good. I have his Passion for Pasta book which I find very useful.

Never got to eat at Neil Street - unfortunately.

According to his Wikipedia entry, Jamie Oliver’s first job was there, before he moved to the River Cafe. Carluccio’s sous chef was Gennaro Contaldo who later owned the wonderful, but shortlived, Passione (and was later employed by Oliver)
