Anatolian Table - Mission District, SF

Has anyone else been here yet? My first visit was better than my second, but there is so much more on the menu I want to try.

A friend dining with me made the comment in the review, comparing Anatolian Table unfavorably with Dalida; I agreed, but again, Anatolian Table isn’t setting itself out to be fine dining.

That said I’m looking forward to trying the several other pides, as well as more of their lamb dishes.

Haven’t been ourselves but some friends have been and they thought it was OK, not great but also not disappointing. They actually prefer a place like Taksim for Turkish inspired food in the city or Kitchen Istanbul.

Not sure if I would call Dalida fine dining and I don’t think they aim for it. If you look on the menu of Dalida and AT, comparable dishes have a similar price point

The description for lahmacun was “cracker-like” - was it really crunchy (because that would be a sign of an overcooked lahmacun) ?

For me Dalida is a higher scale of dining than Anatolian Table. In the presentation of the food, the ingredients, the decor of the place, etc. The price points are similar for certain dishes, but Dalida has many more dishes at higher price points.

As for the lahmacun, It was more that the crust was as thin as a cracker, not so much crunchy. It was a really fine version of this dish, for me.

I don’t know those other Turkish restaurants, and I’ve only recently started reviewing restaurants that are not in the Mission District for Mission Local. But I would be game to try them.

I’ve been to the one in Rocklin (Sacramento).

And ?

That’s pretty much it.

are the restaurants related?

You’re the intrepid food critic, you tell me.

Same owner - he also owns a few more restaurants in SF

It should have some chew, like a crispy tortilla (but better). You should be able to pull it apart vs breaking pieces off, and roll it up like a burrito with the usual Turkish salad wrapped up in it :yum:

yep, that’s exactly what this was.
