Went last night for the first time and were blown away. First off walking in. The place is reminiscent of PJ Clark’s in NYC. Tin ceilings, old signs. And our welcome was warm and friendly. The staff were all smiles all the time, obviously happy with their jobs. The owner made several trips around the restaurant in each of the many dining rooms, stopping at each table for a chat. For dinner we shared bone marrow with pickled mushrooms and slow roasted bacon bites with bourbon and brown sugar glaze. The bacon was actually squares of pork belly, and, oh my, was it good! For mains my husband had the 20 oz dry aged Delmonico rib eye. BTW, the owner, Joe, ran Delmonico’s in NYC for many years, so his steak ain’t too shabby! I had the burger served with
sweet pickles, bacon onion jam, cand crispy onions topped with Ranhoffer sauce – a combo of ketchup, mustard and mayo. Best burger I’ve had in ages. I opted out of the fries the burger came with and got the Skillet Hash Brown with onion jam and crème fraiche. I’m a sucker for good hash browns. In all, it was a fantastic find and I can’t wait to go back!
