Agra Red Bank anyone been?

Has anyone been to Agra Indian on Monmouth St yet? They opened just after Memorial Day.

Not yet but I will.

I have enjoyed meals at Saffron twice. Saffron now offers a brunch menu as well.

My wife, daughter, and I ate at Agra this week. We had potato samosas, lamb samosas (each served with cilantro and tamarind chutneys), mango lassi, garlic naan, vegetable jalfrezi, paneer saag (spinach) – latter two dishes came with basmati rice. Mostly vegetarian because my daughter is vegetarian. Very friendly service, and we were asked upfront about spiciness/hotness (we requested medium, and we thought they hit the mark for a mainstream Western taste). My wife and I thought conventional potato samosas (huge) better than the lamb, though latter also good. Paneer saag excellent with lots of the cheese. Jalfrezi good, but a bit ordinary compared to the paneer saag. Naan was light and crispy – not at all like store-bought (with which I’m more familiar, sadly). Servings were generous – we took 3 lunch servings home. My daughter is a regular for vegetarian fare at NYC Indian restaurants (where she lives, in Brooklyn) and said the food was good. My wife and I have not eaten at a local Indian restaurant since Aarzu pre-pandemic – too long ago to compare. BYOB. Menu is available online with accurate prices (though some items were Sharpied-out on the menu in the restaurant, so don’t get your heart set on any particular dish). Prices very reasonable ($9-12 appetizers, $20-23 mains), 4% upcharge for card vs cash. Total for 3 of us was a little over $100 including 20% tip.
