2024 VANCOUVER FOOD CRAWL - Day 2

After lunch, we took a short excursion drive to " Steveston Fisherman’s Wharf ’ for some sightseeing and walking off some calories.

Unfortunately, the outcome was a total failure since we encountered fisherman boats and onshore stalls selling ’ LIVE B.C. Green and Red Uni in the shell "!!

It’s too irresistible not to give them a try…so cheap! Sadly, m

ore calorie and cholesterol intake! Sigh!

Whilst savouring them I was surrounded by curious onlookers, some with no idea what weird looking stuff I was consuming with such joy and gusto!😋😝👌

BTW, check out the price of those pristine fresh BC Spotted Prawns!! Incredible!🤪

That’s CDN? Incredible prices for all.

Yes! Canadian dollar!
US$7.00 per pound for the Spotted Prawns!!..even more amazing!

We get Spots off the boat at Half Moon Bay for usd$35/lb. Flash frozen at sea from Alaska. We eat them raw, Thai style. We cheap out and usually get Coonstripes from Same source for about $15/lb. Much more palatable.

At the Asian markets, live Spots average $40+ per lb.

We do like to travel to eat. Been awhile since we’ve been to Vancouver. Hmmmm….

According to the lady selling them. They were fresh off the boat, non-frozen.
