2024 EUROPEAN FOOD-CRAWL - San Sebastian Part1..….Accommodation, nearby sights and Tapas crawl

Conveniently located, we were relieved to find that our spacious, clean, cozy and contemporary AirBnB was as advertised. Steps from the river bank and its adjoining bridges, our apartment is within a short walking distance to the old-town, where most of the popular and highly rated tapas/pintxos bars were located.

Rather than adopting a shotgun approach to our food searching. We have decided, based on advanced homework, to just focus on three popular establishments, all with highly praised house-specialties. Our three narrowed down choices were “Bar Sport” ( Jamon Croquettes, Uni cream and Ikura in the shell, dressed Crab Shell ); “La Cepa” ( Jamon Iberico Bellota, Fried Wild Mushrooms, Wild Head-on Prawns a-la-plancha, Percebes, Fish Soup, Gilda Pintxo ); “La Vina” ( Best Basque Cheesecake ).

Unlike previously, this time, this old man can just stay back and let the kids do all the ‘ frontal assault ‘ and bring back the food! Ha!!:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::yum::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

This brings back great memories. I can remember La Cepa and La Viña so vividly and our trip was ten(!!! Time flies) years ago this July.
