What’s genuinely neat here is that you can not only get a coffee and the bagel at the new plant, but also watch the bagels being made by some sort of robotic bagel-maker. “The main thing is that I designed the whole place around the showpiece, which is the heart of the plant, the dough line, which has been like my new baby,” Winston tells Eater SF. “It’s super awesome, it’s really fun to watch — it’s quite mesmerizing

Sorabol K Banchan Kitchen had a soft opening on Friday March 24 at Telegraph Av and 40th St in Oakland. Hours for now are set at 10:30 am to 7 pm everyday except Tuesday. The kitchen though closes at 6 pm.
It looks airy with several flower placements, three two-tops inside and 2 two-tops outside.
There are several refrigerators with many kinds of banchan and kimchi in clear plastic tubs. Most of the banchan are in the $4 - $6 range. The menu board lists grilled meats, vegetables and sandwiches in the $10-$16 range.
The staff is friendly and gave me a small bowl of rice and a package of dried seaweed to go with my $5 banchan of jalapenos, pearl onions and radish in vinegar.
There ae $3.50 pastries from Acme in a case near the front counter.
They take credit cards and acceptance of cash might be limited.

That power outage in Berkeley might put the restaurant, newly opened Delirama, out of business. Very sad–they worked for years to get a store going, and it was wildly popular.
Don’t write off Delirama yet. Their GoFundMe looks successful. I’ll be going down to try some of their other sandwiches, to help bridge their income.
