Anyone remember an English restaurant from the 1960s in MidTown? I don’t remember the food but I remember they gave each of us kids an old Brit penny as a souvenir.
You’re probably referring to The Cheshire Cheese which was located in the Theater District. My husband and I ate there several times. Not a pub but rather a white tablecloth restaurant with a menu that included the eponymous Cheshire cheese soup and Beef Wellington.
