As someone who always tries to buy free range or organic pork, that’s just scary stuff.

Oh, this makes me sad. I know a small farmer who kept pigs for years in a rustic, natural setting. It’s not efficient but those pigs are incredibly social and happy creatures.
Example: I used to have an apple tree at my old house and collected buckets of fruit for them in the fall. They’d get noisy unless I waited by the fence for them to finish gobbling up all the apples. It was nice to see, even for a non-farmer like me.
