Bingo. Luke Tsai says the Berkeley location is operated by the Hu family, and that’s the name written on the Davis location’s abc records. The toothpick lamb at the Berkeley location, IMHO, is worth a detour. If the Davis location is comparable, that will be my lunch stop next time I go to Sac.

I wonder how many Davis Chinese owners got their start in the Bay Area. I know that Shanghai Town, which was my goto spot when I lived in Davis, was owned by someone who had owned a place on the peninsula.
