Russian Dressing without lumps

I love Russian Dressing. I love my Russian Dressing. I make it a lot with creamy mayo, ketchup, pickle relish, horseradish, chili sauce, Worcestershire, celery salt, pepper. But the mayo never gets smooth. Does anyone have a secret to smooth RD?

With pickle relish (and potentially the chili sauce), I’m not sure how it can be unless you whirl it all up with a stick blender.

Thought of that but then I lose the crunch from the pickle relish.

Yeah, I’m not sure of the problem you are experiencing. Russian dressing by it’s nature with pickles will always be lumpy or “not smooth” because the ingredients aren’t. Not sure how you are able to discern that it’s the mayo that isn’t smooth?

I say if you like it, why try to fix it?

Blend everything except the relish super smooth then stir the pickles in last.

It’s only the mayo that stays lumpy. It doesn’t blend.

Maybe issue of cold mayo with the more liquid ingredients, that can make those tiny lumps in the mayo that are annoying. Try bringing mayo to room temp a while first. Or just blend/whisk it well as already suggested

I always add a splash of white vinegar and a splash of sherry … no lumps

Pickle juice is the key! No solids needed.

I like the pickles.
