Raleigh, NC - Wegmans!

The site finally has activity! Opening now scheduled for 2nd quarter of 2019. Can’t wait - it’s right between my TJ’s and Costco.

Wegmans is an odd store. Their meat, seafood and produce departments are top notch as is their prepared foods. Where I have an issue with them is dried, canned goods. They have very limited selection always seeming to try and push the Wegmans private label brand. Where a normal supermarket might have a dozen dry pasta brands, Wegmans has 4 or 5, one of which is their private label which get’s more shelf space than any other product.

If it weren’t for this I would love the store but anytime I shop here I always find myself having to go to another store to complete my shopping because inevitably Wegmans won’t have something I like.

I’ve only been to Wegmans once. I was impressed by the areas you mentioned, plus the bakery (mini pastries, half loaves and other small sized items for solo’s) , cheese prices and the hot bar/salad bar was tasty, fresh, good variety and priced right. Pretty much all the perimeter areas I liked and found better than what my locale provides. I did find the interior much different and of less interest.

I’m not sure there will ever be one store that I could feel takes care of all my needs. The closest I’ve found was Your Dekalb Farmers Market but I’ve never lived closer than 4 hours from it! Fantastic variety, prices, freshness, live fish, etc.

And it’s expanding! https://atlanta.curbed.com/2016/5/31/11820794/dekalb-farmers-market-expansion-will-happen-decatur-

Good to learn more! Thanks.
