Hey, who cares if the Department of Agriculture is part of the government shutdown?

Well, all of us should, I think. Yikes.

To be continued later😊 Maybe. Not sure how this subject will go over here.

Between rain and later flood damage from multiple hurricanes many NC farmers were already hurting. The shut down is making a bad situation much worse. The impact will be felt by consumers for at least a year. Hopefully the farmers will still be there.

This was a bad year for NJ & PA Farmers. All of the seasons were late & short. Lots of crop damage from weather. & the soy bean farmers got totally killed.

The Department of Agriculture’s portfolio is broader than we knew until we read Michael Lewis’s latest, The Fifth Risk. For example, much rural home lending depends on the Department.

Have you noticed that Congress and The Office Of The President haven’t been complaining about “payless paydays” in their realm? Scumbags, all!

Our bi weekly CSA offerings were sparse, with the exception of mushrooms, due to the weather… our farmers partner, a farmer and cheese maker herself said it was the summer of mold, mildew, mice and morning sickness :sob:
