Chris Parks and Mario Camargo are the duo behind Blake’s Grillery, a taco pop-up in Oakland, CA that was born amid the Coronavirus pandemic. While businesses all over the country were forced to close, Blake’s Grillery offered a mutually beneficial opportunity to bars, allowing them to stay open with a food service option. The taco pop-up focuses on Mexican BBQ style tacos like chicken tinga and quesabirria, and the duo sell their food at different bars in the Bay Area. While 2020 was a difficult year for all, it provided a unique chance at redemption for Chris and Mario.
from SF Eater:
Blake’s Grillery pops up regularly on Mondays and Thursdays at Heart & Dagger Saloon (504 Lake Park Avenue, Oakland), Wednesdays and Saturday at the Avenue (4822 Telegraph Avenue, Oakland), and Fridays at Runway Spirits (2505 Monarch Street, Alameda). Check Instagram for updates.

Sarah Han: Three takeout meals come to mind as being particularly delicious: 1) The dim sum feast I picked up from Ming’s Tasty in Oakland Chinatown — the rice noodle roll stuffed with savory Chinese donut was particularly good, and somehow the donut managed to stay crispy despite being enveloped in a steamed rice noodle and transported in a takeout box — magic!
I had to look away when he ate his slice with a knife and fork - the horror!!

Oh boy, do I want to get food from here. Everything is fried in beef drippings (you can request vegetable oil), and they have lemon posset which you NEVER see on menus.
Ooh those fish and chips look amazing!
