Your favorite food scene in a movie

Not sure what you’re trying to get at. That is one of the most powerful food related scenes in cinematic history imo. Brings me to tears every time. She kept her word too didn’t she. All four of them.

AND Mammy & Pork ruled the roost at Tara.and everywhere else they went.

Sorry.:worried: Me either. Only meant to add one scene. I was inspired by your attached scene, and rented the movie, then I got a phone call, and now I can’t seem to take up where I left off.

ETA. Found it!

I grew up on GWTW. Book first and then the movie. Love it til this day. Guess we can always start with this one. And Mammy was always the boss.

And then there’s the last chicken in Atlanta: Uncle Peter.was the boss there too.

Speaking of Netflix, a minute’s worth of cooking criticism:

I’m watching the 2013 Baseball All-Star and there is no social distancing, guys are hugging, shaking hands, and lots of spitting.

What gives?

I’ve actually heard tales of a time when people would actually blow air all over a birthday cake, and then everyone would eat it. OMG, so gross :scream_cat:

These “people” should be locked up.

So true! If you’re interested, check out a pic I just posted on the bad news thread in the age of corona. NOLA/nostalgic music related.

Only in that thread because I posted an article on the current hard times in NOLA, and the subject of Cafe Du Monde came up. DD2 and I put down a couple coffees each and 2 shared plates of beignets.

Not a movie: But Lenny Henry as Chef! surely deserves a mention in the Salt scene.:slightly_smiling_face:

From Jay Rayner in the Guardian.

“A survey of 2,000 people by research company Perspectus Global has found that Lady and the Tramp sharing spaghetti is the most loved movie restaurant scene of all time. The top ten also includes Meg Ryan’s faked orgasm at Katz Deli in When Harry Met Sally and Mia and Vincent going for a burger in Pulp Fiction .”

He didn’t provide a link, but here’s what Google found, with the rest of the top ten list:

That is too funny; this thread is what caused me to post here, rather than just lurk. Reading it from its start and not seeing Lady and the Tramp mentioned, just had to sign up and add it. It was the very first thing that came to mind! :dog: Thanks @ernie_in_berkeley.
