Who's ONION RINGS and FRIES are the best?

Well I have family all over the United States and they use lard to fry everything including desserts. Makes the tastiest flakiest crusts ever created. From Greek phyllo dough pastries to Croissants. Guess there are not many pigs (animal) in Canada. My condolences.

Good to know. I used to buy his bottled sauce. Very tasty

You honestly believe anyone gives enough of a fuck to start a campaign for an online poll about fries?

Ho boy.

@Phoenikia – I just had a great idea. Maybe if we in the US send some pigs up north you can devise some new type of bacon. If it’s any good, McD’s may even agree to serve it on a breakfast sandwich. Maybe someday we can meet, become friends and hash this idea out more fully.

Why the anger? I think you have more problems than just enjoying arguing with people. I know the people who can’t have a polite discussion. They seem to work in the news media, public office, as professors/teachers and need to force control over other humans.

No anger. And you couldn’t be more off-base with your assumptions about my (or others’) professions, but we all know you’ve made up your mind about everything.

All the things & foods were better in the past, and everything today totally sucks. Sounds like you’re angry about your own perception of reality

And the gubmint, MSM and academia are conspiring against us all, regardless of our day jobs\political leanings.

Interesting. I’m half Greek.

I use butter for filo pastries, baklava, spanakopita, tiropita. Olive oil if I’m not using it butter.

I haven’t used lard at home for anything. I know the Greeks from the Peloponnesus use a lot more pork and might use more lard.

Happy to hash this out in person some day. :joy:

I give a hog’s ass. That’s how much I care. I used some of my precious data to create those polls!

Big Tallow had conned McDs into using its tallow. Big Veg, especially Big Corn, has a more powerful lobby these days.

Many things were better years ago. That is correct. You are right about that. Too many to list. Actually I am not closed minded as one would think. One particular subject I completely turned a 180 when presented with facts not available to us previously.

There is an American brand of potato chips called Ute’s. One of their varieties is called Grandma Ute’s. They’re kettle chips, and they’re fried in lard. That’s the closest I can come.

To more important matters, how can Grandma’s be bad ! We’ve been blessed with gifts of homemade tortilla chips fried in lard, and there’s nothing like them.

Once a bag of crab seasoning flavored Utz came our way, and we’re sad to report we weren’t tempted to find it on our own.

That’s too bad. I’ve had some wonderful teppanyaki meals with a stage act; the best was at a Benihana in 1999 in the SF Bay Area. The worst, which sounds like your experience was at another Benihana in the Midwest. I would be wary of the kind of service you had especially with cross contamination and food allergies. I guess we live, we learn.

There’s a tendency around these parts to put Old Bay on everything. I don’t like those chips, either. But the lard fried ones are quite good. You just can’t eat a whole big bag of them… or maybe you can.

Have to say those chips don’t appeal to me, but I do LOVE Old Bay Seasoning - what an excellent blend.
