Which Peter Chang restaurant should I go to?

As you said, the purpose of a food discussion board is discussion. Snotty one-word replies do not qualify even as an expression of opinion. let alone discussion. That reply was snotty, un-called for, useless, and does not belong in a food discussion.

But I’m glad to see you are qualified to call into question the qualifications of the JBF.

There are two possibilities in the Baltimore area. The original (but re-imagined) NiHao which is in Canton, and a second one called Peter Chang Restaurant near Johns Hopkins.

We will have to give it a roll, thank you for the Info.

Price is $118 per person for 5 courses. The quite nice wine pairing was $75 for 5 glasses.

The bread was indeed very good, but imo the too-sweet honey butter was a slight distraction.

I did like the pork and lychee salad, especially when I got a bite of everything in it. But my wife’s asparagus w/ fried lightly pickled jalapeños and pineapple aioli was better (the jalapeños were the star of the dish).

Yes, they had a gift course. In this case, some excellent zucchini flowers stuffed with cheese and lightly tempura-ed.

But as noted above, the “brothers” beef back ribs with a kalbi marinade were the absolute star.
My one tiny complaint is they would have been even more spectacular with more of the wonderful grilled scallions.

Mostly I’m sad that if/when I next go back, it is very unlikely those ribs will be on the menu.

Thanks for further details. It’s good to know they they still gift a course. In this day and age, $118 seems like a bargain! Some competitors are going to the hundreds. Makes me wonder why they are so good at hiding the price… usually that’s a sign that ‘if you have to ask, you don’t want to know’

There is always the question about menu rotation. It always mystified me when I’d have a great course somewhere only to never see it again. Arrrgh!
