I’m excited to try this place.

Bar Clams will be in the Fonda Balam space. Donairs, Newfie fries, hot turkey sandwiches, hot beef sandwiches, in addition to the fish and clams.

I really hope this place has staying power. I liked Hopgoods Foodliner. The places serving Halifax donairs over the past 10 years always seem to go out of business in Toronto.

Steep prices for some mains at Bar Clams.

Bar Clams is not offering take-out yet, not even when I asked nicely. :joy:

The place was a third full at 5:15 pm tonight.

Very friendly, down-to-earth hostess.

The Hot Turkey Sandwich and the Hot Hamburger at lunch costs $25, which seems fair to me.

Most club sandwiches and burgers at restaurants with table service along Dundas W are in the $20-$29 zone. I have noticed a few restaurants don’t post their menus on their websites anymore, which makes price checking difficult.

I’d like to know if the Jiggs dinner is good. I haven’t had it since our last trip to Newfoundland a number of years ago. I keep seeing tubs of Newfoundland salted beef at grocery stores and have toyed with making my own Jiggs dinner at some point.

Might be fair, but wtf is with all those peas?!?! :face_vomiting:

Restaurant 20 Victoria
Ca Phe Rang

Sushi Masaki Saito
Prime Seafood Palace
FK
Itacate
Abruzzo Pizza
Pizzeria Badiali

We also have a Google Map with the many dozen cheap eat places we want to try (so we know where we can try something if we are headed to a particular part of the city).

Because Whitby’s where its at for Durham dining… And, seriously, curried lamb Scotch egg. How can I not?

For destination dining, Port Perry’s hella cute and has some nice shops both practical and whimsical. Farewell to the wonderful Foundry Kitchen. Please come back soon. In the meantime, this funky joint holds much promise. I think they should cut their overly ambitious menu by half and really focus, but still worth a shot.
