CATANIA, September, 2024; last year the city was the first stop of our trip, so LE TRE BOCCHE is at the beginning of this thread; we returned to the city for one night the following week; that dinner, in A PISCARIA, the fish market (name in dialect) was at VUCCIATA KITCHEN MARKET, where we had been before; simple place, great food in astoundingly large portions. For that, see post #11.
The fish market turns into a restaurant zone at night; plenty of locals amidst the tourists. Very close to the Duomo, and to our wonderful hotel, PALAZZO MARLETTA.
This is not a travel sit but I wll relate an experience I had at PM hotel in Catania:
In 2023, I could not resist buying a purple wallet from a shop on Via Etnea. Gorgeous leather, very reasonable price. After a few months, the lining of the wallet tore. I brought the wallet back to the store the following year and they instantly agreed to repair it. BUT, they would not ship the repaired wallet to the US. I told the story to one of the guys at our hotel who was familiar with the shop. He told me to bring the wallet in for repair, and when it was ready, he would go to the shop to collect the wallet and would send it to me in the US. Which he did… (!!)
