What's on your mind (2026)

Same. The two battle for dominance, but they’re merging into a permanent overall disappointing anger.

I’ve never been this disgusted on a daily basis in my life before. And I moved here in 2001.

Despicable, disheartening, and absolutely horrifying.

The more things change, the more things stay the same. At least that we can rely on.

I took Sunshine to the hand specialist, yesterday. Not good…

A few months ago, she fell into the pantry (reaching for something) and thought she sprained her wrist. We should have gone to Urgent-Care, but didn’t. Any who, it was some type of bone break, not getting it fixed caused some type of problem with a tendon. In order to use her thumb properly, she’ll need an operation on this tendon. Moreover, she’ll be unable to use her dominant hand for 3 months, while it heals properly.

Jokingly, I told her – “You’ll have to learn to use the remote with the other hand”

I keep saying to myself “OK, we got through that issue/problem – we’re home free” – I need to stop saying that.

I’m taking her to the dentist on Wednesday – this is supposed to be just a cleaning, crossing my fingers the dentist doesn’t find anything wrong.

Ugh. That sucks. Good thing she has you around to take care of her, and — as someone who’s just learning now how many things I actually do with my right hand as a supposed “leftie” (I’m pretty whack in a semi-ambidextrous way) — she might learn how to do those things with her other hand. Or try to

Hoping the dental cleaning doesn’t reveal anything expensive :crossed_fingers:t2:

We are waiting to hear back from the Surgery Scheduler.

We’re hoping we can get her in sooner rather than later.

Yes, Sunshine is a “lefty”, as well. I’m hopeful she’ll be able to do most things with her right hand. She does like to make lists, I told her to use the computer, type them (hunt and peck) with one hand, then we’ll print them out.

Similar to you and your partner, I guess we’ll adapt and find solutions.

If she has the ability / tekkkmollogy to use voice to text, I heartily endorse that method.

For someone like me with zero patience it’s been a life saver… for the rest of the household

We’ll look into that…

Thanks!!

I have only received a few cookies (usually 2 Oreo cookies or 2 Peek Freans cookies). and a Coke after donating blood.

I did receive a backpack and 2 t shirts for raising $1200 in donations for the Canadian Cancer Society!

………

I’m thinking about raising money for another charity this spring.

Voice to text has been a lifesaver since my stroke. I’m writing typing better now but it’s a work in progress.

Protest knitting.

I just got my first request for a nisselue.

I have more yarn than kitchen stuff. Caught again. …

My mother used to say, never let anyone know everything you can do, because then they’ll ask you to do it :joy:

I was thinking about finally picking up some needles and mastering casting on and casting off. I have been knitting and purling since age 12, but never got beyond that.

Ravelry is great, plus there are a lot of helpful videos out there that teach everything Without a video, I never could have figured out how to do a Latvian braid stitch. Best not to have a playful cat around the 2 balls of yarn, though …

Well, we just blew our health equity allotment for 2026 on two crowns and a bridge for me today. Didn’t even cover all of it.

Yay.

Thankfully, sticky/chewy stuff isn’t my cuppa, and I’ve gotten pretty used to chewing on my left side for the kronchy stuff

I had to give up sticky (including my favorite cherry Tootsie Pops) when it began dismantling my dental work.
